Here are 6 reasons why you need to make a Facebook page for your blog or website now.
1. Pages are public. Most of Facebook is behind a login, preventing search engines from indexing. However, some Fan pages are not behind a login and thus search engines can index the page. Hopefully, people will stumble on the result in search engines, visit the Facebook page, and then get to your site via the link (see reason no. 2).
2. Pages include links. Because the pages are public, you can get some nice facebook.com link credit and it’s free.
3. Send “updates to fans”. One of the good features is that you can send “updates” to fans whenever you want. It’s a nice way of building a database of interested users. Send messages about new products, updated website, etc.
4. You control the page. You are able to send your own messages, edit or remove sections, and control the information.
5. News feed. When a someone joins a Fan page, it’s published in their News feed for all their to read (unless they have turned this off). It makes someone joining your Fan page somewhat viral.
6. It’s free and easy. Making a Fan page takes just a few minutes – add some information, URL, and upload the logo and you’re done.
Go do it here and if you want to advertise it, place an ad for a small fee.
How to do it? You can keep it simple, or add additional applications which you can't do with a Group. Be warned that there are some teething problems with having the same applications in your 'profile' and 'fan page' so I use different ones to avoid the hassle.
For my nutritional blog, I've created a 'fan page' and have added a RSS reader and HTML script box for subscriptions ... you can be as creative as you like.
... oh, very importantly, as this is a business application you have the opportunity to see traffic through 'Insights'.
Go to it and have fun.

... increasing your Facebook presence with your blogs ...
(... this is the facebook post for eCademists* that started things off...)
... in three easy steps ...
You blog, right? ... here or using a blogging tool - wordpress, blogger, wherever .... Well, if you don't, you ought to seriously consider it to promote your products and services or to build your personal brand ...
Having just given this to a Blackstar, I realised I ought to be sharing this ....
... [start of lesson]
Ok, here are three, I think, brilliant ways to automatically feed your eCademy Blog and Marketplace listings - and your personal blog - into your fb profile.
1. Open your webpages 'fb Notes' and 'eC blogs' ... click on 'Notes Settings' and 'Edit import settings' ... now you have to paste the RSS feed address from the eC blog into there ... and you get that by going to the bottom of your eC blog page ... see the RSS 2.0 symbol? ... well click it and copy that url ... et voila ...
2. Add the application 'Flog Blog' ... and simply add your personal blog url ... and to make sure its visible, open up Flog Blog and click on 'Settings' on the RHS and make sure you have 'Maximum posts to show' set to a number ... I have '5' ... and the only other thing is to go to your Profile page ... on the LHS click 'edit' Applications ... you get a list of all your apps ... find 'Flog Blog' and click 'Edit Settings' ... now I have:
Profile: All my networks and all my friends
Left menu: tick
News Feed: tick
Mini-Feed": no tick
Profile Links: tick
3. Add the application 'SuperRSS' ... I use this to import my Marketplace Listings ... alternatively you could import eC Marketplace to fb Notes ... anyway, so find your Marketplace RSS feed by clicking on the RSS 2.0 symbol in 'My (Marketplace) Listings' and add that into SuperRSS.
...[end of lesson]
Making the most of facebook means importing your existing blog feeds and there you go.
Have fun ... this will definitely increase your fb presence ...

Welcome
I have been asked to share advice on how to blog and how to give your blogging more impact ...
Specifically from Nevil for his National Fitness Challenge 2008:
"Hi Andrew,
I was reading your article on blogs and importing them into Facebook etc. One thing I would gladly welcome is 'an idiots guide to blogging' style of information from someone or something. It sounds a very excellent way to promote through online sources...I just need to understand what it is and how a complete novice can do it- as long as it doesn't take up the whole day!"
This is my response.
Best wishes,
Andrew
